Passport
Kenya Passport Renewals:
Kenya citizens wishing to apply for or renew their Passports, travel documents or Emergency certificates can do so at the Kenya High Commission in Dar es Salaam. Children under the age of seven years may also be endorsed in their parents Passports.
For application or renewals, you need to fill out a form and submit it together with the relevant payments.
Requirements:
(a) New Passport / East African Passport
1. PP1 form - Two copies.
2. Two copies of Birth certificate
3. Two copies of one of the applicants Parents Birth Certificate (for Kenyan by birth) or Registration Certificate (for Kenyan by naturalization).
4. Two Copies of Marriage Certificate (for Married women).
5. Two Copies of applicants Previous passport ( Relevant pages only)
6. Three Passport size Photographs.
NB: Minimum Period - 6 weeks.
(b) PASSPORT RENEWAL - (After the first 5 years)
1. Fill in form PP3 - One copy
2. Attach one Passport size photograph
3. The expired passport
NB: Minimum period for process - 24 hours.
(C) MANIPULATED / DAMAGED PASSPORT
Applicants whose Kenya passports have been manipulated / soiled / damaged / defaced etc, are required to request for new passport books. The applicant should submit : -
1. Form PP1 - Two copies
2. Two Birth Certificate copies
3. Two Parents Birth Certificates copies
4. Two Marriage Certificate copies
5. Three Passport Size Photos
6. A sworn affidavit detailing the circumstances under which the damage occurred
7. Original manipulated / soiled / damaged Passport
Minimum period - 6 weeks

Endorsements, Amendment etc:
(a) Children's Endorsements:
1. PP4 form - one copy
2. A letter from the husband (for married women)
3. Original and one copy of the child's Birth Certificate
4. One Passport size Photograph of the child.
5. Proof of father's Kenyan citizenship
6. Endorsement fees - Tshs 17,250/= (for one child)
NB: Minimum period - 24 hours.
(b) Amendments:
1. A letter of application for amendment.
2. Relevant Certificate e.g. Marriage, Profession - Original and one copy.
3. One Passport Size Photograph.
4. Amendment fees - Tshs. 12,250/= for one Amendment.
NB: Minimum period - 24 hours.
(c) Emergency Certificate:
Kenyan nationals who have lost their travel documents and need to travel home urgently will be issued with emergency certificates on fulfilling the following conditions:
1. Submission of a letter of application.
2. Production of Police Report.
3. Presentation of the original identification card/documents to prove Kenyan citizenship- and a copy of the same.
4. Presentation of 2 Passport Size Photographs.
NB: Cost of this Certificate - Tshs. 3,500/=
- Minimum period - 24 hours.
(d) Renunciation of Citizenship:
The current constitution of Kenya does not allow dual nationality. Therefore on attaining another nationality the Kenyan citizenship must be surrendered through the following procedure:
1. Production of a letter renouncing citizenship
2. A letter from the authorities of the acquired citizenship confirming the same
3. An official declaration form dully completed by the applicant and signed by a Magistrate or Commissioner of Oath, (To be submitted in duplicate).
4. All Kenyan documents to be surrendered to the Mission together with the application for Renunciation - i.e. Passport, Identity card.
NB: Renunciation application fees - Tshs. 34,500/=.
